The No Hitting Zone!!..NFL takes Action on Big Hits!!

Steiner Sports NFL Brandon Jacobs 2008 Week 1 Vs Redskins Hit on Landry Autographed 8-by-10-Inch PhotographThe NFL is cracking down on big head to head hits. Two players were heavily fined last week for the hits they put on the opposing players. I must say these hits have been happening since the start of football. Ever since Pop Warner Football, all players dream of the Big hit , ya know like when your mouth piece flies out and the ear pads pop out. My mouth is getting wet now as I write about it.  I know players must be protected, but you just wanna keep the game exciting. Let's be fair on both sides, you don't want this to become flag football with pads. I'm all for right thing in the progression of this sport..What's your take on the new rule being set..Will it take away from the natural feeling of the big hit,you tell me?

  1. I don't know what that feels like to be hit with the body of a 300lb pro football player, nor do I want too...lol. I do like watching a good hard hitting game. I think being hit is one thing, but being put in the hospital is another, and not if it ruins the career of the player. Don't you think that some players do harm on other players just so they will be taken out of the game? I'm not talking about accidents...It is one thing to hit hard, but It's quite another to try and caused bodily harm on purpose. To me at times it looks like it could be done maliciously. Not all the time just on some rare occasions. I think they do need some rules for those players that do not understand that it is a game and not a target range. I do think that the rules might leak into the overall effect of the game. Lets hope it doesn't affect the rules to the point of becoming, flag football with pads.

  2. I am on the fence with this one. While I do understand the need for this rule, as a fan I wanna see a good game and not players scared to give their all because of a possible fine. The NFL pays players millions of dollars and get millions more from the fans. We wanna see a good, exciting, hard hitting game. I do not want to see anyone hurt so that is why I understand the other side. Those dirty players who hit to purposely injure a player are the reason for this new rule. Just as jharts, I have never played the game - LOL - but I cannot imagine a head to head hit from a 300lb player.

I remember playing touch football with the boys when i was little, they were trying to get there touches in and I was breaking fingers. They were running home telling they mom that i broke there finger. LOL, It wasnt even intentional either, i just tackled him when he caught the ball and he broke his finger LOLOLOl. That was funny I knew then i wanted to play football, I just happen to be a girl (tomboy). You can't tell by looking at me, that i was a tomboy because i also was a model! LOL I love FOOTBALL, BARBEE

  4. Seems to me as if the NFL is overreacting a bit here. Dangerous hits should be penalized severely but hard hits are what football is about in my opinion
